CCAT General Meeting March 2016
CCAT General Meeting 22 March 2016
Peter Cox presented the Annual Report. It is 11 years since CCAT started, and the purpose of CCAT continues to prevent trafficking and slavery in Croydon and also to cooperate with other organisations doing similar work and provide support to them via the YCAHT (Your Community Against Human Trafficking) model.
Anthony Botting from Croydon Council was the key speaker. He reported that CCAT were helping to implement the 4 Ps of the Government’s Modern Slavery Strategy (Pursue, Prevent, Protect, Prepare), as part of the Prevention of Modern Slavery in Croydon.
The CCAT Finance Report was presented by John Dunkerley. Both income and expenditure for the year had increased, with a resulting healthy balance; and the year accounts were audited by an independent Examiner.
Going forward, CCAT will focus on 4 areas of activity:
• Schools Project
• Intelligence Gathering
• Community Education and Events
• YCAHT – our model to help other communities develop
Finally, Peter Cox thanked all the CCAT trustees and volunteers for their work over the last year. More members had joined in 2015, and their support is much appreciated.
