Croydon Community Against Trafficking (CCAT) is a small Croydon-based charity which is committed to the fight against modern slavery and human trafficking. We are currently five trustees, one project manager, and a handful of volunteers.
We are currently establishing a multi-stakeholder project which aims to make the London Borough of Croydon a Slavery Free Borough. This is a significant operation and is currently in the initial stages, having just had the first of many multi-stakeholder meetings.
We are looking for a pro-active, passionate, and social applicant who will be able help guide the charity and assist in implementing the Slavery Free Croydon project. Currently, trustees are fairly hands-on, but the ultimate aim is to have establish the Slavery Free Croydon project as a self-sustaining enterprise. Trustees are expected to participate in weekly meetings with the project manager (virtually) and attend quarterly multi-stakeholder meetings (in person).
We would like the successful applicant to be passionate about making Croydon a better place to live. It would be good (but not essential) if the successful applicant had some other relevant experience, e.g., as a trustee for another charity, in the fight against modern slavery, or in establishing multi-stakeholder initiatives. More general skills and experience which relate to website design, social media management, marketing, project management, and fundraising would also be really useful since CCAT is a small charity and the trustees are active agents within the organisation.
If you’re interested, please send CVs and covering letters to theccat@protonmail.com.
